Gotta Get Goals!

    Thanks for reading Vera Nadine!

I promise that this blog is not becoming a meme machine, but Alex Shalman’s designed a really uplifting game of blog-tag with his Gotta Get Goals meme.

He says: “list and write about the top 5 to 10 goals that you gotta’ get so that you can truly say you have achieved your wildest dreams in life. These have to be your best, most exclusive, and over-the-top goals that you can pick off your goals list.”

No one actually tagged me but I find this to be a fun and fascinating idea so here they are, my eleven goals:

~

1. Pay off my school loans. I owe so much to Uncle Sam that I could buy three people a Volkwagon Touareg with all the options (costs about $60,000 each) and that is about the amount that I am expected to pay the government back for my useless college education. To be free of this debt is really the one goal of all goals…then going off-the-radar, off-the-grid and being free of all encumbrances would be a reality for me. After that weight were lifted, everything else would be a cake-walk in comparative terms.

2. Write a series of books that entertain, inspire and give people the tools that they need to become happier, more enlightened people. To write books on several spiritual topics, but not just books that regurgitate the same old “teen love spells” every 3 years. I want to write books on magical and self-development topics for marginalized groups as well as the whole human community. I want to use my guides and my love of writing for the coming ascension of mankind….to “shake and awake” so to speak.

3. Meet my life partner. I am hoping for a life-long love with a good, honorable man, a love that never gets old and is always a source of happiness. I’d prefer someone who is pagan and truly spiritual, well-educated and open-minded that will make a good father if kids come and who is not a lazy-arse with no goals.

4. Own my own farm/Grow my own food. The biggest goal of all: My own farm with an 18th century farmhouse that is solar-powered, with a composting toilet, a working hearth (yes I know how to cook in one from my museum days,) a nice babbling brook, horses, cows, sheep, a nice shady grove, an outdoor goddess temple, a barn that I can convert to a wheelchair accessible apartment for my Dad, and a little craft shoppe in the yard. I’d like to buy the whole thing with cash so as never again to live under the type of pressure caused by my school loan debt.

5. Become that best Medium that I can be. I must begin by getting over my strong dislike of the idea of seeing recently deceased people. I am letting the irrationality of the Ego curtail the growth of my abilities in that arena. There are other steps to take too…developing medical intuition and energy healing, etc…

6. Help my father live a fulfilling life. He has tried his best to give me everything that he thought I needed in life and although neither of us is financially prosperous I would like to have enough to give him a comfortable home as he ages. He has enough worries with his fused vertebrae and the Parkinson’s Disease. He should not have to worry about bills and broken-down cars and home maintenance. I’d like him to be able to enjoy his gardening and wine-making and aquarium tanks and not have to feel that life has past him by.

7. Learn two more foreign languages. Well I wouldn’t say that I know Spanish in a fluent way but I know enough from my year living in Mexico, it’s getting a bit rusty though. My goal is to learn more Spanish, become fluent in French and then to become fluent in one of these others (which I just can’t choose from): Scots Gaelic, Latin or Elvish. Yes, I know, you are saying “how does one become fluent in a dead language, a fictional language or one that is spoken only in a very remote area in which you do not live?” I don’t know, I think you just find a similar group of freaks to your own self and then hammer it out that way.

8. Master my physical being. This amounts to going from the thinking phase of self-improvement to the action phase. I need to stop knowing what is healthy for my body and start doing it instead. Goals include always getting up with the sun, lessening my dependence on a meat-based diet, walking/jogging 3 miles or more a day (despite the weather) and just generally putting in the effort to be kinder to my physical self. Lazy is all well and good but it gets boring and it certainly doesn’t do you any favors. Try being lazy AND running your own business…it just doesn’t work folks.

9. Become a professional public speaker. To begin by attending a worldwide spiritual conference as an invited guest speaker (And to not turn beet red on the stage. I’m not afraid of speaking in public ONE IOTA and yet I always get hot and turn scarlet. I hate it.) And then to take this to a higher level by giving motivational speeches to large groups, corporate employees etc…

10. Become a dual citizen. I absolutely love Europe and I would like to gain citizenship in at least one European country. This would allow me to work there, buy property there and spend six months a year there without hassle. My connection to my past lives and such makes me really want to gain British citizenship. It is my soul’s real home. My heart tells me so every time that I go there. This goal stalks me, plagues me, won’t let me rest. I must have it! And I WILL, somehow!

11. I’d like to become a mother, a truly great mother, who is patient and fun and who sets a great example of life skills for her children. To be the kind of mother (to my future children) who helps them to become successful and well-adjusted human beings.

~

I know that I am on the path to achieving these goals and that all of you who read my words, are kind enough to register for my site or subscribe to my feed and who generously leave me uplifting comments are helping toward the successful manifestation of my goals. Even those goals that are wild and crazy!

So thanks for your friendship and you continuing support!

May all of your over-the-top goals come to fruition as well!

Dying languages are being revived. I keep a blog of revitalization efforts. Why don’t you be part of the Gàidhlig (Scots Gaelic) revival!

    Hey Vera,
In a way, by you being open and honest, kinda makes me know you a lil more. I suppose I’ve always believed that goals are in away a reflection of a person. I learnt recently that maybe true.

Just to give a few suggestions

Energy Healing - there are many modalities out there. Most famous is Reiki with as many schools. My most memorable experience is under The Reconnection, and it something itself.

Dead Languages - Labels. I’m learning one right now and if anything, by learning it, you’re helping to revive it. You will be contributing to a language.
One common language you might want to look into is German. It’s surprisingly easy because it’s almost entirely similar to English. Try cd’s first, then move into classes. It worked for me at least.

And finally, I hope you acheive all your goals.

    Cheers.

Hi Vera, I’ve posted my goals but on my other site (onelifeamongthemany.blogspot.com).
Your goals sound great (and very beautiful and sweet), and I hope you manage to fulfil them all!

It seems that financial considerations are the major stumbling block for most goals. I know that in my work to reshape my life that has been the big obstacle.

    Good luck with your goals!

    Hey, Vera Nadine-

First..question…are these your first and last names, or is your first name a combo of the two??? Beautiful…just want to get it right, wink, wink. Also want to say that I lovelovelove your icon on MyBlogLog. It draws me in every time and I get happy when I see it on my site.

Second…thank you so much for tagging me in this. Life has been truly interesting and full and I finally got to posting on Sunday, then “pulled a Pamm” and forgot to tell you. I also tagged you right back to share an uplifting song. Will be fun to see what you choose if you choose to choose one.
